It’s ya boi, Jane-Rebecca Cannarella

This is the home of Jane-Rebecca Cannarella (she/her). I’m a writer and editor living in Philadelphia along with my beloved cats, sidewalk-tossed stuffed animals, a variety of haunted garbage, and a rapidly depreciating cannister of salt.
Born on Long Island, middle-and-high school-ed in San Diego, and a longtime resident of Philadelphia, I attended Arcadia University for a BA in English as well as my M.Ed.
I completed an MFA in nonfiction at Antioch University, and also attended Goldsmiths and Sarah Lawrence.
My student loan debt is astounding and because of it I will unquestionably get rounded up for debtor’s prison.
With the help of a gaggle of good friends, I assist in editing, and co-editing, several literary presses, including: HOOT Review, Meow Meow Pow Pow Lit, Superfan Wrestling Zine, and Screenshot Lit. Learn more about those baddies in the above links!

Some very generous and wonderful publishers took a chance on putting out collections of flash fiction, poetry, and chapbooks penned by the same maniac writing this increasingly long bio page. Wanna support them and pick up a copy? Grab at them here, here, here, and some other places. Or just enjoy the kind of embarrassing display of vanity as I pose with the collections below.
Some universities were courageous enough to ask me to lead workshops on flash fiction. I’ve also presented on a few writing panels about flash fiction and publishing.
Along with the above, I helped to create the Flash Fiction Festival in Philadelphia (say that five times fast), which I led in collaboration with a very beloved local bookstore, A Novel Idea, two years in a row.
If you blink, you can still find me leading writing workshops in Philly and online, or you can reach out to me here and ask me to kick it with you (aka lead a generative writing workshop).
Chaos, cooking, crafts, and cool clothing.
Here are some social media links if you’re the sort to want to see the latest snacks I’m having, an obsession with my cats, my many thoughts on professional athletes, and the glorious insides of various chain restaurants located in several airports.
